Pet Rescue Day on the Bay Offers FREE Cruises

Hornblower cruises presents the seventh annual Pet Rescue Day on the Bay event to benefit local animal shelters. By donating a gently used blanket or towel, a dog and its owner cruise FREE on any one-hour harbor cruise on a Hornblower yacht.
Items will be collected from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and donated to the animal center. Dogs cruise free only on May 15th and only when on a leash and with donation of a blanket or towel to the animal shelter. Call for more information: 619-686-8700.

Memorial Day Weekend in the Gaslamp Quarter - KiFM Smooth Jazz Festival
With the sounds of smooth Jazz, delightfully warm weather, and good eats what more could jazz enthusiasts want this Memorial Day Weekend? KiFM and downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter come together bringing you two outdoor stages with live performances and national acts all day on May 24th from noon to 10 p.m. along Fifth Avenue and G Street. Pedal to the Park
Take a beautiful Sunday ride to PETCO Park where you’ll be cycling to raise money and watch the Padres sweep the Reds at 1:00 p.m. Pedal to the Park is for all ages and ability levels with proceeds benefiting Bicycle Coalition advocacy, riders with disabilities and your pocket book (see your tax advisor). Padre Fever!
Spring Training is here! The beginning of March 2008 kicks off the pre-season for the Padres as they throw, swing and pitch their way to the regular season. The 2008 Summer Pops season of live music begins this June. Fall Back Festival 2008

Run for the Hungry 5K & 10K: November 27, 2008

In benefiting the Jewish Family Service Foodmobile, the seventh annual Hungry Thanksgiving Day Run is fun for the whole family in downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. The race begins bright and early at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day followed by turkey-day delights, a party on the waterfront and the canned food drive. You can also bring your faithful pooch along for the run where they'll enjoy water breaks, a new bandana and a post-run treat. Entrance fees are $25 for adults, $15 for youths with 12 and under for free and $10 for your leashed pup. Ticket prices increase on race day and event will take place at PETCO Park East. Port of San Diego – Urban Trees 4 Public Art Collection
Three of the world's most highly recognized contemporary artists’ works are on display now at Urban Trees 4 with the 5th installation of the collection coming September of 2008. Gaslamp Mardi Gras
Presented by Southern Comfort, masquerade around the best street festival in Downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.
